Amphibians & Reptiles of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National ParksEdward D. Koch & Charles R. PetersonKoch, Edward D. and Charles R. Peterson. 1995. Amphibians & Reptiles of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. University of Utah Press, Salt Lake City, UT, 188 p. $12.95 Perhaps one of the most throrough field guide for such a small area. This book covers all 16 species know to, or suspected to occur in the area. Each species account summarizes what is known about the species. many of the accounts include never before published information, taken from the authors research, or in some cases the extensive reserach by Charles Peterson's graduate students. In some cases (for example the Rubber Boa) this book offers the most complete account of the species and its life history published to date. A guide that should be on the bookself of anyone interested in North American herpetology and a great template for anyone considering writing a regional guide. |
