Download: The entire Herplit Database can now be downloaded as a series of Tab-delimited text files. These files can be imported directly into EndNote as well as most other database programs. A trial copy of EndNote is now available on-line which will allow you to import and search the Herplit Database
Each citation contains 13 fields. The fields are listed below. If you are importing the database into any program, except EndNote, you will need to use this table to make sure the fields are imported correctly. Unfortunately, this table is about all the support that I can offer. Good luck!

Files to download: Each of the files below should be saved on your hard drive as a text file. They can then be imported when you are off-line.
Endnote files and text files can be downloaded from http://homepage.mac.com/herplit/FileSharing20.html
Problems: Unfortunately in downloading the database the dicritical marks (é, è, å, í, ü, etc.) may be lost. On my computer each of these letters appears as a box. However, by using the "Change text" command each letter can be corrected. for example by copying the box for "é" and pasting it in the "find" field, then typing "é" in the "Change to" field all of the places where "é" is supposed to appear is corrected. This needs to be done for each letter.
Updates: EndNote files are now being e-mailed directly to those who wish to receive them. Each file contains only herpetological citations. If you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive these updates please let me know. Of course exchanges are always welcome.
